A General Solution for the Errors in Variables (EIV) Model with Equality and Inequality Constraints

Targeting the adjustment of errors-in-variables (EIV) model with equality and inequality constraints, a general solution that is similar to classical least square proposed based on penalty function weight in measurement. Firstly, we take constraints as do not satisfy constraint conditions construct functions respectively. Thus, constrained optimization problem transformed into an unconstrained problem. Then detailed calculation formula approximate accuracy evaluation are deduced. The iteration easy regarding comprehension applicable implementation. It can only solve EIV respectively, but also address simultaneously. In addition, it promote Gauss–Markov (G-M) constraints. Finally, three examples (i.e., those constraints) validated, indicating effective feasible. results show
